Reflecting on a Great Summer of Learning on the Job

We were happy to launch our first official summer student program at Côté Gold this year.

Troy Wilton is a University of Ottawa student who joined the Human Resources Team from May to September. This is what Troy had to say about his summer at Côté:

"My time with Côté Gold was an incredibly valuable experience that has contributed to both my personal and professional growth. Working with such a supportive and collaborative team allowed me to develop a stronger understanding of the recruitment process, community relations, and gain hands-on experience that I can relate to my studies. This role strengthened my practical skills while adapting to the fast-paced demands of HR and community relations. A highlight for me was coordinating the group assessment interviews. This gave me a new perspective on evaluating candidates while reinforcing our company values.  

Also, experiencing visits to the mine site allowed me to connect the recruitment process to the realities of the workplace. Overall, I think this internship strengthened my abilities, boosted my confidence, and gave me valuable experience to carry forward into my career."
